This page will hopefully explain some of the things going on with this site and answer some of your questions (I hope!). If these FAQs don't help, feel free to ask me about it by contacting me.

What is the site for?

Being a developer I wanted something to do ... and things I hate sprang to mind. I saw a film on TV called "10 Things I hate about you" and thought that would be a good idea for a website. Thinking that (maybe) the site would get busy I decided that 100 things might be better (see FAQ about smaller Fings below).

What is a Fing?

Lazy Britsh slang! When trying to find something to call the lists, categories, 100 Thingy Items etc ... I couldn't come up with anything better. After a while it kinda stuck so left it as Fing, which is just a lazy way of saying Thing.

What is a Hate?

Hates are what you create for a Fing. You can create as many Hates as you like, and Hates are the things people vote on. If something you hate about a subject (Fing) is popular, then it should work it's way to the top of the leader board.

Why is there a limit of 100 Hates for a Fing?

That's all to do with the name of the web site . Once we have 100 Hates for a Fing, that'll be all folks.

Why are there Smaller Fings?

Although I want to try and get 100 Hates for each Fing, sometimes there will be subjects that I don't think will reach a hundred hates. These "quick" fings might only need 10, 20 or 50 Hates.

User Rankings - Scoring

Everytime a registered user creates a Hate or Comment, or suggests a Fing to be used on the site, points are awarded. These points can be seen by clicking on your User account when logged on, or by clicking on User Rankings to see everyones points. The points are awarded in the following way (until I decide to change it):
